Hi! I'm so glad you are here! I'm Mai, your well-established local photographer. Specialized in Family, Maternity, Engagements, Couples and Children Portraits. I'm drawn to capturing the candid, every day, un-posed, simple moments of a family's life. So when you book a lifestyle photography session, yes we will still get those posed photos that you'll want to blow up and hang throughout your home, but we will also spend time capturing some fun in between moments that you'll want documented.

While selfies sometimes can do the trick, there's nothing like having a photographer capture your memories. Often times, when looking back, I sometimes recognize that I'm not in any of the memories. Hiring a photographer gives you a chance to be a part of the memories. During the booking process, I'll assist you on selecting the best times & locations available in town. Once you book your session, I will also send you a curated Style Guide with tips on what looks best on photos, and what to avoid.
My approach to family sessions with little ones.
As a mom of two kids under the age of 8, I understand that little ones often need time to warm up, take breaks, and feel comfortable in front of the camera. That’s why I approach every family session with patience, understanding, and flexibility.
My goal is to guide your family through a balance of traditional, posed portraits and more playful, lifestyle moments that include games, movement, and plenty of opportunities to simply be yourselves. I pay attention to your children’s needs and energy levels, recognizing when it’s time to slow down and when a little fun and freedom will help them feel more relaxed and engaged.
Throughout the session, we’ll naturally move between posed and playful moments, depending on what works best for your children at that time. Often, allowing kids to laugh, play, and be themselves helps them feel happier and more cooperative when it’s time for those classic portraits—and that’s when we capture those genuine, beautiful smiles!
One thing I gently encourage parents to avoid is yelling or putting pressure on their children to behave or smile for the camera. I know it can be frustrating when things don’t go as planned, and it often comes from wanting the session to go well. However, pressure can sometimes make children feel overwhelmed, sad, or self-conscious, making it harder for them to relax again.
Instead, let’s give them the grace and space to be little. There’s no need for perfection! My role is to guide the session, adapt to your family’s needs, and create an environment where your children feel safe, happy, and free to be themselves. After all, the most meaningful photos often come from the moments when everyone feels comfortable, connected, and genuinely joyful.
